Our Story
Our Story
Thunariso Organic Garden is a registered company that began as a backyard initiative in 2018. Thunariso empowers community youth, the unemployed, women and men by equipping them with the skills to start and sustain their own gardens.
The name "Thunariso" is a heartfelt acronym derived from the names of our children: Thu from Thuso (our firstborn son), Na from Naledi (our daughter), and Riso from Thoriso (our youngest son), symbolizing the family roots that inspired our journey.
Our Mission
We aim to educate and empower individuals with essential gardening skills, ensuring food security and sustainable livelihoods within our communities.

The Team
The organisation is supported by a dedicated team who work collaboratively to create an enriching educational environment. Thunariso facilitates hands-on workshops that teach essential skills in organic farming and sustainable gardening practices. These sessions cover vital topics such as planting techniques, soil health and pest management, while emphasising the importance of environmental stewardship and nutritional awareness.
